Jaj
sir,
I am commanded by the Army Council to acknowledge
receipt of your letter No. 27751/1909, dated 26th August 1909,
forwarding a transcript of an Ordinance passed by the Legisla-
ture of Hong Kong entitled "An Ordinance to amend the Stone-
cutters' Island Ordinance, 1889", and to say, for the
information of the Earl of Crewe, that it is presumed that
the Ordinance has been passed at the instance of the General
Officer Commanding to meet military requirements, and in
these circumstances they have no observations to offer on the
subject.
I am to return with thanks the volume entitled
"Ordinances of Hong Kong" Volume I, 1844-1890.
I have the honour to be,
sir,
Your obedient servant,
